PCMS Engineering, the Condition-Based Maintenance specialists, have recently transferred their Head Office from Newcastle-under-Lyme in the West Midlands to Rotherham in South Yorkshire. This move was prompted by a desire to co-locate their customer showroom and administration facilities with their oil analysis laboratory so as to offer their clients a single shop-window on their capabilities. The Oil laboratory was established at new premises in Rotherham during 2012 when the previous oil analysis business of UK Coal was acquired, an activity which PCMS had managed for several years on UK Coal’s behalf.
PCMS analyse over 80,000 oil samples each year for a range of major industrial clients across the UK and offer a comprehensive service of analysis, alert, advice and prediction, managed via their web-based OMEGA platform which provides secure multi access data storage to all clients. The OMEGA platform is currently being extended to cater for all other types of CBM data.
PCMS employ 22 specialist engineers and consultants and offer a wide range of maintenance support and optimisation services to industry, including safety audits, asset management, condition assessments, reliability improvement programmes and strategic maintenance reviews. Their extensive expertise with condition monitoring tools and techniques, such as stress wave analysis, has enabled them to secure major contracts at Sellafield and with Network Rail as well as major operators in the mining, offshore shipping and rolling stock maintenance industries around the world.
The company is a major distributor for a wide range of Condition Monitoring equipment and provides a complete installation and commissioning service together with a portfolio of after sales support activities including calibration, upgrade, monitoring and analysis. Training is a key element of the Services offered and the company holds a Bindt accreditation for Condition Monitoring training courses.
